Making flash cards
Sometimes learning what seems like the simplest things may be hard for our children. Take your son Max, for example. Though he may be good at science and spelling, at nine years old, the idea of addition and subtraction are somehow foreign to him. He doesn’t do well in math class, and everyone knows he has the worst grade in his class. Instead of getting mad, though, you could help him succeed—and all you need for success is some free time and a laser printer.
Why would a laser printer be helpful in helping Max learn Math? Well, using your laser printer you can create flash cards to help him get the hang of it. They can be as simple and complex as you want them to be. Whether your child is having trouble figuring out “2+2” or “22+22”, your laser printer can help create flash cards to fit your child’s needs. Sure, you could go to any store probably and find already made flash cards, but they won’t be created especially for your child with everything tailored to his needs.
Want to make them more interesting to your child? Try putting the flash cards on his favorite color of paper. You can also add cute clip art that he will love too. If his favorite animal is a giraffe, add some giraffe art. If he loves soccer, try to somehow incorporate that in. The more interesting these cards are, the more susceptible your child may be.
Most laser printers can print on card sized paper, but make sure yours does before you design each of these cards. You can use any program from Microsoft Word to Photoshop to create the perfect card. Once you have them designed you can print as many out as you want, because printing with a laser printer is relatively affordable.
